im actually listening to birmingham’s vulture whale’s long time listener first time caller for about the 10th time. usually i do this “feature” on the first listen, but figured i would change it up a bit, not that you necessarily give a shit, but i guess for me. anyway, here’s the long and short of vulture whale’s first record in i think 5 years, youre gonna love it, or hate it. i personally love it. one thing i love about it, is that it sounds like it was made for noone other than themselves. there’s nothing about this record that says hey we give a shit what you dear listener thinks about what were doing here. maybe im reading, or rather listening to it wrong, but thats what im pickin up. they really dont sound anything like each other, but in terms of attitude, vulture whale reminds me of another birmingham band of yesteryear, verbena. anyway, if youre a fan of said band, the replacements, early 70′s stones and maybe even early aerosmith you should absolutely pick up what vulture whale are putting down.
