i have a shitload of emails pushing this and that band, but in all honesty they mostly go ignored. i like finding stuff on my own. granted i have stated in the past that i know for damn sure that i miss out on a lot of great stuff by ignoring these emails, but its the 15 year old in me that hates to be told to listen to this that and the other band. with that said, i stumbled across this band, should, who i believe are out of baltimore and their like a fire without sound is their first record in 13 years and took 5 years to make.
should, i believe if i read correctly, is made up marc ostermeier along with bro and sister tanya Maus and his brother eric. things may have changed since their formation back then and i dont know for sure if the original lineup is in tact, but what i do know is that if you like dreampop/slowcore/shoegazey stuff this will be right up your alley. in fact this is one of the best records tied to those particular genres i have heard in years. if some yo la tengo records have left you feeling a little underwhelmed, listen to this, and it should fill that void. really really enjoying this, but then again i was raised on the dreampop, bitch! so its really striking a chord with me.
the record is avail via via itunes – itunes will open by clicking that, and here on cd for 10 bucks.
