we’re gettin the band back together
i like radiohead quite a bit, but i never got why people go apeshit over them. they remind me of a sitcom that i never go out of my way to watch, but when i do catch it, i enjoy it quite a bit. my one problem with them is that the music is too cold for me to make an emotional connection. this is not to say i need to make these kind of connections with every band, but with a band i like this much, i wish it were possible. the only record i really dont dig all the much is the much beloved and highly overrated, ok computer. me thinks hail to the thief or the bends are my favorite radiohead records, although i dig kid a quite a bit. i love the dreamy pop of the bends, especially “fake plastic trees,” and “high and dry.” i have yet to hear any of their new stuff, but i am sure it will be gobbled up, even by yours truly.

Had a listen to the new Greyboy Allstars album last night – they had it up for free streaming yesterday and it sounds amazing! Can’t wait to pick it up. I downloaded and burned the Radiohead BBC sessions from Captain’s Dead. What an outstanding recording – a must if you like Radiohead. I think Radiohead is amazing, and this recording gave me a chance to hear a few Amnesiac songs in a new light. I thought while Kid A wasn’t quite perfect it was

You might be the only person I know who likes Hail to the Thief. I love Radiohead – not in a saviour of indie rock ‘n’ roll as we know it way, just as a really good band – but I never got into that album at all. It seemed to me to be to Radiohead what Around the Sun was to R.E.M.
as good as they are, the most over hyped band ever.
radiohead is one of my favorite bands. maybe because i feel like there’s too much emotional connection between me and some of their songs.

Hail to the Thief is ONE OF THE BEST ROCK ALBUMS EVER MADE! It is the culmination of all the disparate elements that Radiohead had been toying with on their previous releases, fused seamlessly for the first time into perfection!
