I never listened to them after Siamese Dream, and I've never been more excited about a record coming out as I was the day Siamese Dream came out because of how great Gish was. In fact I remember before access and internets I walked into a record store when I was 16 and asked if they had any idea when a new Smashing pumpkins record was coming out, and he had just gotten in a promo disc with the first four songs and he put it on and Cherub Rock came on and it was so fucking good I had to change my drawers. It was so unexpected and that kind of thing doesn't happen any more because we always know when everything's coming out. Anyhoo, it's too bad they lost it. Some bands just can't stay good and some bands are Sonic Youth. Many congratulations.
