uncle tupelo live & otherwise (demo tape)

Posted by gregor on Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

whats up peoples? dont think i have mentioned it before, but you may have noticed that banner thing over there for groopease. if you havent bothered clicking it, what it is is a groupon-like music site. every day or every other day or two, they have sales on records by emerging artists or unsigned artists. i have checked out a few of the bands offered thus far, and theyve definitely been worth the two or three bucks it costs to buy their record. its invite only, but if you click that banner or right here, my invite code will be used. just thought i would throw that out there…

what we have here is the second demo tape that uncle tupelo i guess shopped around to potential labels. half of its live, half of its not. see above for exact details.

1. before i break
2. life worth livin
3. fortunate son
4. cocaine blues
5. gimme gimme gimme
6. good times
7. that year
8. i got drunk
9. there was a time
10. otherside
11. no depression
12. screen door (713)

holy springsteen, dan bejar! i, admittedly, have not dug too much of bejar’s work since the first destroyer record, which is like one of the best bowie records bowie never released, and is still one of my favorites to this day. i love the thought of his work, but in reality we dont alway connect.
