there’s a drought goin on

by gregor on October 17, 2007

today i decided to fishing at one of my favorite local holes, sweetwater park, and this is what i found. absolutely depressing. you would have to be living under a rock not to know about the drought, at least locally. it wasnt until i saw it with thine eyes that i didnt fully comprehend the gravity of the situation. shits, messed up.

it should look somewhat like this..

BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Well, that’s partially negated because there’s already a live record out there. And Suede sucks, so . . .

Please, please let it be Suede. Especially if it has Drowners on it.

I lived in Jasper, north of Atlanta, about 20 years ago. I remember even then hearing that people’s usage was far exceeding what Mother Nature was putting in the lakes. It’s a bummer to see this. I hope it turns around.

Gregor, these photos have been haunting me…as a water person/sailor/etc. these really bum me out. You guys in GA must really be freaked.

yeah, wendy its pretty messed up. i, in all honesty, didnt think it was that bad until i went to sweetwater, where i took the pics. it was really a slap in the face and a should be a wake up call to all of us that we need to start being a little bit more conservative and less egocentric. there’s no need to be watering the grass every day/all day like some of my neighbors.

we get most of our water from lake lanier and according to this report it doesnt look good. http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/northfulton/stories/2007/10/19/water_1020.html
