the woodlands' summerland

about a year and a half ago, i was fumbling blindly through a seemingly endless number of myspace band profiles in search of something. that something i was looking for, i havent the slightest? i never really do that sort of thing, so maybe i was really bored or something? i did happen across a band that day that i immediately dug. dug so much that i bookmarked em on delicious, see here, another thing i try to utilize but dont really use that often. i had meant to contact em, but never got around to it for one lame reason or another. then a couple days ago, i got an email from samuel, who makes up half of the husband and wife duo that is the woodlands – his wife hannah, makes up the other half, by the way. i knew the name sounded familiar but im slow and it wasnt until i checked out their myspace page that i recognized their stuff and pics. crazy how life works sometimes. they have a newly released self titled record, that i have yet to listen to, but is sitting on my harddrive, and i hear great things about it. i will say that “summerland” is really quite lovely and the first time i heard it brought back memories of being young and running around with my friends in the summer nights trying to catch fireflies. i always love when songs can bring back a rush of feelings/memories.
