its not very often that a band likens themselves to silkworm. or, at very least claims them as an influence. which is actually a damn shame, cause quite frankly i think that silkworm for being just a 3 piece rock band had one of the most distinct sounds i have ever heard. i cant say i have heard a band that sounds remotely like em. anyway, so when a release came across my inbox that claimed texas’ the garys claim such an influence, i had to check em out. now, they aint the second coming of silkworm, kinda as i had hoped, but they’re pretty right on. dave norwood’s every man vocal stylings is something you may have to warm up to, but the songs are solid, and actually found myself listening to these two tracks at a dozen times whilst writing this. which, honestly, is about 10 more than i give most stuff that gets pushed to my inbox.
