the bottle rockets “smokin’ 100′s alone” – acoustic and live

by gregor on August 11, 2011

the bottle rockets, a band i should listen to more often, but sadly i dont. every time i listen to em, mainly my two faves the brooklyn side and brand new year, i love em long time and then ask myself “why dont i listen to these guys more often?” a question, i have no answer for except pure laziness, i suppose? either way, next week bloodshot records is releasing not so loud: an acoustic evening with… which was recorded in a 19th century school house and pulls from the best from what is a pretty vast back catalogue. you can listen to the entire thing down there via soundcloud… also btw, they’re starting a tour tonight in portland, or. at the alladin. click here for all the tour dates.

Awesome band! They popped up on my iPad when I was using my AudioVroom app. Came to check out more. Great sounds and great vibes!

A great live band and I really enjoy most of their catalogue. Brooklyn Side and 24 hours a day are my favorites. That said their debut album, Songs of Sahm and Zoysia are all albums I go back to regularly. Had a chance to see them live in Chicago recently… I didn’t think they brought it like they used to but still really solid.
