top of the morning. i have finally gotten around to listening to levon helm’s 07 release, dirt farmer, and all i can say is wow. its scratchin right where i itch. is electric dirt as good? i have heard that its hit or miss. anyone confirm or deny? so, after listening to dirt farmer for the past few days has led me back to this recording of the band at the palladium on 9.18.76. it’s an fm broadcast that was originally broadcasted on wbcn. track 12 “forbidden fruit” is not included cause it was officially released. btw, this was originally posted over a year ago, so before you download, and youve been visiting for a while, make sure you dont already have it.

i think electric dirt is fnatastic, i haven’t heard dirt farmer but hopefully i will someday soon. electric is great though, its great to hear levon sing muddy waters and the greatful dead. also an original composition called ‘growin trade’ is also great, it sounds alot like workingmans blues by dylan but also has a neil youngish twang and of course an undeniable levon twist
Electric Dirt gets better every time I listen to it. I still prefer Dirt Farmer, if I had to make a choice, but Electric Dirt is most definitely worth buying!
