one thing i really like about portland, maine’s honey clouds, is that they make me feel happy. its not cause their fall on the honey clouds is an overtly feel good-y record, but more because it feels comfortable and familiar. its like a warm blanket made up of a lot my, and presumably your, favorite bands. hopefully that wont be taken as a knock against the record, cause its actually its greatest strength. they pull pieces from the greats and make it their own, which could be quite the mess if attempted by lesser musicians. but the men and woman of honey clouds are not lesser musicians and pull it off beautifully. definitely recommended for fans of earlier pavement, silver jews, apples in stereo, wire, early rem, the fall and television.
