dtcv “in the sun” video premiere – blondie cover

Posted by gregor on Monday, November 3rd, 2014

if you’ve frequented these pages over the past few years, dtcv, or detective as they used to be known by, will be no strangers to you. if you have no idea who they are, they are james greer, ex-gbv, the lovely tones of guylaine vivarat and chris dunn, and they’ve put out a couple killer eps, basket of masks and very fallen world and also have a compilation of early material entitled the early year, and a 2013 release hilarious heaven. the latter kinda pisses me off, cause i didnt even know it existed! even more evidence that i need a damn intern. they have a new record coming in out in ’15 entitled uptime, and yeah its freaking awesome. oh, and this killer blondie cover is on their 7″ single entitled part time punks, which you can purchase down there.

buy part time punks in either 7″ or digital form via their bandcamp page, like them on facebook, follow em on twitter

detective "basket of masks"

Posted by gregor on Saturday, May 12th, 2012

detective is actually supposed to be french, with an accent over the first “e,” and i would try to add one, but cant figure out how. they were named after a godard film of the same title, and are made up of james greer (ex-guided by voices, etc,) guylaine vivara and rory modica who both play in the l.a. band useless keys. theyve released a couple of eps, very fallen world and the forthcoming, basket of masks – which i have been listening to for the past few weeks.
