i dont believe mr escovedo is still doing his orchestra thing, and that saddens me for i never got see any of those performances. next someones going to tell me he stopped doing em years ago, for which i will reply “really?” what kinda pisses me off even more is that i made zero attempt to even catch any of the shows. granted i didnt start feeling this way up until about a week ago when i came across this killer performance of the alejandro escovedo orchestra performing on kut in austin back in 1990?! that seems wrong, but my memory fails me quite often.

austin, tx’s the boxing lesson brings the psychedelia, and i think i like it. only gotten into the lead track off their wild streaks and windy days, but its pretty righteous. if ya dig spiritualized/spacemen 3, pink floyd, swervedriver, etc you may find the boxing lesson to your liking.

top o’ the morning, y’all. here is a lovely ugly casanova performance on 7.2.02 @ the mercury in austin. for those that may not be aware, ugly casanova is isaac brock of modest mouse. his sharpen your teeth, imo, is on par with some of the best modest mouse records, most notably lonesome crowded west and the moon and anarctica.
