As promised, here’s a Great Lake Swimmers show from Schuba’s in 2005. Oddly enough, I’ve managed to see just about every GLS show at Schuba’s except this one.
There are some of my most listened to GLS songs in this set and the seasonally-appropriate (and beautiful, even if the chorus is just a sequential listing of Toronto train stops) “I Will Never See The Sun”. The Tom Waits cover, “Innocent When You Dream” is a unique interpretation, unreleased on any albums and without a doubt one of my favorites. This band and show is worth your time.
This particular show had some limited commercial release (you can, and should, buy it here), so we’re just streaming it.
