spur’s “mind odyssey”

hankering for your next favorite record? look no further than the sounds of spur and their drag city release spur of the moments. the record is an absolute trip into parts i never knew i wanted to go. think brian jonestown massacre crossed with gbv inspired parsons era byrds and some 13th floor elevators thrown in for good measure, and you may have an idea of what spur is all about. its all over the board, but at the end it seems to all make sense. its kinda like waking up from a dream that you have no idea what was going on, then later in the day realize what it was all about, or at least partially. its all about piecing it all together. highly recommended! definitely a top ten of the year candidate.

EDIT: see i dont read press releases, cause this is actually from the 60′s. i really would have never guessed cause it sounds so fresh, and has aged beautifully. so take those influences i mentioned and put em in reverse. makes the record even more impressive.
