im a little late on this one, but you know the old saying. anyway, talked about these guys and gal before from the great white north known as one hundred dollars. their new record is entitled songs of man, came back out in may on outside music. my main issue with their last record, or at least that last one i listened to, forest of tears, was simone schmidt’s delivery, but she seems to have toned it down a notch on this one. she has a lovely voice, and coupled with the music, it makes for a great listen, but her lispy drunken slur like delivery was not really off-putting but i couldnt stop focusing on it. my own problem, i know, cause i know there are a ton of people that love it. either way, this record is great, and definitely a best of 2011 contender.
