“Hmmm. Now how would Woody feel in this 8th sequel to a Toy Story.”

The last time I saw Morrissey he opened with a song that went along the lines of “…..blah blah blah SimonĀ  Dancing Bear.” (Except no blah blahs and far more histrionic.) I didn’t know the song and looked it up. Oh, Randy Newman. And so began one of those pursuits we’ve all had — the artist you should know/would totally be in love with. A friend dropped Newman live at the Record Plant on me. Guy’s got a way. This is from 11/10/74.
