new stuff from maxwell panther

me thinks i first became aware of maxwell panther’s existence via tart of love shack baby fame, but not via her site but on twitter. thats probably too many “via’s.” anyway, upon initial listen, being the cranky fuck i am, i immediately dismissed him and his lo-fi offerings. the reason might have been because i had to go to myspace to check him out, and i hate going to myspace. fast-forward to a few weeks ago and i got an email about the above mentioned chap – i think he’s english and isnt that what they call each other over there? figured i’d give him another listen, but on my terms! second time his stuff fared much, much better than that initial go around. still, its not all rainbows and pedo-bears, cause his music can be a bit rough, but there’s something slightly endearing about it. if he were to clean it up a bit, would it be as charming? i dont claim to know, just wondering… anyway, here’s a couple tracks off his recently released do you feel different yet which you can buy via song by toad records or via emusic.

A bit rough, as you mentioned, but I see this growing on me. It’s got a solid pop foundation underneath the cacophony, which I definitely appreciate.
