dan mangan’s recently released nice, nice very nice is one of those records that you may not think much of, other than its good, on first listen, but it possesses the uncanny ability to creep back in your daily listening habits. i’ve had this one for about a month or so now, and i found myself going back to it on a semi daily basis. musically, the record is comprised of your standard folksy/singer-songwriter fare – though there are some nice surprises, but lyrically is what sets nice, nice very nice apart from your run of the mill singer songwriter. definitely recommended!
