modest

well, here’s to hoping we get a new modest mouse record, soon. admittedly, i absolutely hated we were dead…. well, not hated, but didnt care for it much at all, save a few songs. other than that misstep, i love their entire catalogue, and really ruled and shaped my early 20’s to early 30’s. so for a good decade they were a huge part of my musical makeup. anyway, here is a lovely soundboard from portland’s crystal ballroom. if for whatever reason you never checked em out, i recommend starting with lonesome crowded west and the moon and antarctica… buy em via amazon

What a great band- definitely shaped my musical palate through my late teens to early thirties. I got to see them in Cleveland @ Speak In Tongues right after Lonesome Crowded West came out- awesome show.

i may say a lot of records are “great,” and thats no lie. i rarely say a record is a “masterpiece.” in fact i probably can say that for only about a dozen or so records. the everybodyfields 2007 release, nothing is okay, is a masterpiece. its probably the most gorgeous and heartbreaking record i […]
