honestly, im still in a bit of a love/not sure what the hell to think relationship with mastodon. i think i dig em, but its a very volatile which could quickly turn into full blown indifference. anyway, as the headline should lead you to believe, they are playing at the hob tonight. their new record crack the skye came out a little while back.

i f’n love mastodon. the new album is a lot to process at first, but after about 2-3 listens i really started to dig it. it’s definitely not for everyone, and most people probably could care less about the concept / storyline behind it, but i think it adds a lot. very creative band.
Mastodon f*ckin ROCKS! Oblivion is the SH*T!!! I love the new sound theyre experimenting with. Speaking of new sound, my friend and i also stumbled upon a new record by a band called Earshot which ive never really been a fan of before. But the new record rocks. Saw em in Flint, MI. at the Machine Shop. I gotta say…they kicked fu*ckin ass. check it out if ya care… myspace.com/earshot
I think Mastodon should write a concept album about the Roman empire, that would be cool!
