lostsouls

a couple of years ago, i took a chance and posted one of my most beloved records, the raindogs’ lost souls. the record has been out of print for some time, and i really wanted more people to hear it. lost souls came out 1990, and for the life of me i dont really remember how i found out about em, cause it seems that their reach, sadly, was limited to mostly the boston area. actually i may have my friend dom and his brother dan for turning me onto em. either way, like i said originally since its release its definitely in my top 5 list of most listened to records. its crazy to me that after 21 years it still sounds fresh and new to me. it sounds like it could have been released in any year, including this one. in terms of a roots-rockiness record, i dont think there are many higher than lost souls. i may even go so far to say regardless of the genre, they dont get much better.

mark cutler, the man who fronted the raindogs and who has not stopped making music, thankfully, has been kind enough to let me share his music once again. if you remember, mark’s 2010 release, red, came in at #15 on my best of 2010 list. just like everything he’s done before there’s a timelessness to his music, which in this day of flash in the pan, here today gone tomorrow artists, is saying a hell a lot about the man and his music.

you can buy red via 75 or less records or via amazon
