like most things that end up on my hard drive, i have no idea how joe christimas’ upstairs, overlooking found its way on there. i can only attribute it to a late night drunken downloading frenzy. i know very very little bout joe christmas other than this was recorded sometime in 1995, released by tooth and nail in 1997, and apparently they were just a bunch of high school kids who recorded upstairs, overlooking over a weekend. they may also be considered a “christian” group, not that it matters, but figured i’d mention it. this is just what i have pieced together, and it may totally be incorrect. the record is very watery, domestic/slanted enchanted era pavement, which of course could be a worse thing. its def a very amateurish record, but so enjoyable even with that said. or maybe, i am just confusing their lo-fi sounds as amateurish? possibly?
definitely check em out, and they have copies on
amazon for as low as .27, at that price point i couldnt pass it up.
