the remainder of the adams/paradiso show will be up later tonight. i forgot that shit at home, sorry. anyway, anyone going to jazz fest this year? i will probably be hitting up the first weekend, which has dbt, wilco, spoon, pete seegeer and an enless amount of other folks. second weekend looks good too, with los lobos, neil young, dr john, and my wifes personal favorite buckwheat zydeco. click here for the schedule and tickets.

speaking of free albums, anyone can offer an album for free, lets be honest. shit, i could go home right now, pound out some stuff and give it away for free. would it be any good? absolutely fucking not. so there’s a problem here, right? while i appreciate people giving away their wares for free, some of this stuff is better left out of the area of public consumption. with that said, here is a record that is worth your hard earned mashing of buttons and actually would be worth picking up, that is if it werent free. anyway, casey meehan’s jitney has recently released 86-300 via rockproper – the same folks that gave away the jay bennett record a month or so ago. that record is still available, by clicking that link. the albums title, 86-300, was named after casey’s chauffeur’s license as he spent two years manning a limo from sun down to sun up. i can only imagine the amount of material, other than the works on 86-300, he amassed driving these semi-faceless, yet story-filled souls to their random destinations. the chauffeur tapes, maybe?

click here for the entire record, and click here for the rockproper/jitney site. btw, david vandervelde plays bass on on the lead track, “fin.”

here’s a couple tracks off 86-300
