top of the late afternoon! jesse malin is one of those artists that i dont listen to enough, but when i do, i love everything he has done. although, admittedly, i have not listened to his last two for some unknown reason? but everything proceeding those records i have dug to the highest. i am partial to his first two, the fine art of self destruction and the heat. i never listened to one of his first bands, d generation, anyone a fan? either way, the dude rocks it out pretty awesomely and this song is taken from the heat which i cannot recommend enough.

I was a D Generation fan…I saw them open for Social D back around 1996 and thought they’d be the next big thing…they never really broke but No Lunch is a great record.

Do your self a favor and listen to his latest, Love It To Life. In my opinion it is by far his best work to date. Here is a link where you can listen to a few songs from that release.

Or listen to the whole thing on myspace, which is a surprise.

Definitely worth checking out anything and everything you can find from Jesse Malin! His first two were great but be sure to listen to “Glitter In The Gutter” and “Love It To Life” which are my favorites.

DGeneration was a great band very much ahead of their time. They recently had a short reunion tour (caught their NYC show!) and are supposed to be working on a new album.

I saw him play a show with the New Amsterdams in Lawrence, KS back when The Fine Art of Self-Destruction came out. If I remember correctly, the band’s van broke down and he hitchhiked there and played acoustic. Or possibly I’m imagining that. But it sounds about right.
