heath

so, on my way out the door today, i grabbed as many promos that would fit into my hand. so roughly 8 were brought to work, but dammit if i havent been able to get past jason heath and the greedy souls’ the vain hope of horse. i dont know how long this has been sittin in my pile, but god damn people i wonder what other gold mines im sittin on? i dont know much about these guys, cause i lost the press release that probably came with it, and their myspace page doesnt give out too much useful info. i do know that wayne kramer and nels cline play throughout the record! how do i know that? well the little sticker on the plastic wrapping told me so. the long and short on these guys is if you like springsteen, dylan, early, like first record wallflowers, felice bros, the band, whiskeytown then you should click that link right down there and check em out. this is just a great piece of timeless americana, plain and simple. if you find their record, buy it!

far rockaway

UPDATE: just found that they contributed a song to the danny federici fund entitled “a firefighters lullably.” grab it here.

anarchist girl w/ wayne kramer

the landlord – definitely check out this video. great, great song.

thanks for the tip, Gregor… found it on iTunes and it sounds great. Doesn’t look like these guys get out of the west coast too often but i’ll look out for them.
