is it too early for flapjacks?

so starting today i am officially make my first real attempt at quitting smoking. i dont have high hopes to be quite frank but at least i am going to try. i have severely cut down from my one time two packs a day to about a pack a day, give or take a few, but its still a bit out of control. plus, i can think a lot better things to spend 120 bucks a month on. on top of that there are those pesky health concerns to contend with. in a perfect world smoking would be good for you cause god do i love it so.

the past couple of days has led me down the path to bust out slayer’s reign in blood and south of heaven – two classic records no matter the genre. i am sure this will only last another day or so but for now it feels pretty good.

here they are performing on 6.8.07 in madrid, spain @ festimad sur. its a fm broadcast and apparently the first 4 songs of their performance were not allowed to be broadcast.

1. show no mercy

2. captor of sin

3. cult

4. bloodline

5. mandatory suicide

6. seasons of the abyss

7. supremist

8. eyes of the insane

9. postmortem

10. dead mask skin

11. raining blood

12. south of heaven

13. angel of death

How’s it going on the smoking front? For a certain kind of smoker (I’m one) – one who basically smokes as a buffer against depression – bupropion’s a hell of a tool. I’m six weeks in, with basically not a craving to speak of. Look into it, and keep trying.

Thanks for the music.
