couple of sure to be good shows going on tonight in atlanta. the first being the last of the full grown men, webb wilder at smith’s olde bar. if you have never seen webb live, he is fan-freakin-tastic and a shit load of fun. i used to catch him all the time back in the mid-90′s at the cubby bear and they are probably some of the best times i have ever had a show. check out his myspace page for more info and check out “human cannonball” via hype.
the other show is the hourly radio at vinyl with iamx, which features ex-sneaker pimps member(s). the hourly radio recently released a new remix ep which you can download for free here.
as far as i was concerned u2 could do no wrong, that was until i listened to pop, which left me feeling empty and ashamed. i understand what they were trying to accomplish and where they were going, but it was lost on me. sadly, the last two records didnt fare to well either in revitalizing my fandom either. everything prior to pop is still awesome though.

I so agree!!! That Calliou kid and his horrible speech is a jerk!!! I thought it was incredible that they would make that a kids’ show and his cartoon parents were so supportive of his rude nasty behavior— and Family Guy’s Stewie is so bad?
yeah, jp. the kid is a freakin whiney brat. i really dont like my boy watching it at all. at least with stewie you know he is out to possibly kill you.

Honestly, what was so wrong with Pop? That album’s reputation is as much myth as reality. Yeah, it’s nowhere near their best 3 albums, but it contains the last stuff U2 ever did trying to be even remotely avant-garde.
well, tom, in my reality pop kinda blows. i understand what they were attempting to create, but it just does nothing for me. i cant really reward them for attempting to be avant-garde or otherwise when i cant get behind the songs. if you dig it, cool, but it aint for me.
I really enjoyed this show, great sound quality. This was a great period for this band – oh the memories! Thanks.
What is this? I really do hate Illinois because they are fucking stupid in that state and this is what I find. This is seriously a website or a joke?
