hallelujah the hills cover gbv's "chicken blows"

Posted by doubter on Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

top of the mid morning! if youre anything like me, part two, you probably dont frequent pitchfork too much these days. i, honestly, just cant stomach it. anyway, they talked about a guided by voices cassette only comp that wild animal kingdom records recently put out that features a bunch of bands i have never heard of except for my boys, hallelujah the hills. the cassette only release has since sold out, and i really wanted to buy one, but w/o a tape player it would have done me zero good. nice to look at, i say i have it, i suppose? here is hth’s take on one of my favorite gbv songs, “chicken blows” and a few other tracks off three of their releases which are all definitely worth getting into, buy em via misra records.

chicken blows
wave backwards to massachusetts off collective psychosis begone
when night falls off prepare to qualify
classic tapes off colonial drones

in other hth news, here is a video for “introductory saints” that they just released this week, and below that are the dates of their upcoming tour which kicks off tomorrow in new haven @ lilly’s pad.

09-16 new haven, ct – lilly’s pad
09-17 new york, ny – mercury lounge (w/ +/-)
09-18 charlottesville, va – tea bazaar (w/ the capstan shafts)
09-19 philadelphia, pa – the m room
10-14 danbury, ct – cousin larry’s
10-15 rochester, ny – the bug jar
10-16 youngstown, oh – lemon grove cafe
10-17 pittsburgh, pa – garfield art works
