mat brooke is back with his band grand archives, and a new record that is due out on subpop on 9.15 entitled keep in mind, frankenstein. mat, if you remember, used to be in carissa’s wierd and band of horses, before forming grand archives in in 2006. for those looking for a re-hashed band of horses or carissa’s wierd, look elsewhere, cause grand archives have their own distinct sound that is nothing like the aforementioned groups. i was a big fan of their first one, and by all accounts it sounds like this one is gonna be a winner too.
