youth-culture-index

if i had it my way, i would have a tv and a serious hi-fi outside just for days like today. its a gorgeous sunday here in new orleans, the saints are on, and im listening to a record that would be the perfect accompaniment to spending the afternoon relaxing in hammock, or something. the record i am speaking of is the dreamy pop and droning sounds of philadelphia’s king kong ding dong and their record, youth culture index, but you probably already figured that out. lyrics/vocals are mostly an afterthought and mostly in used in enhancing the mood/vibe, but are pretty damn effective when they do appear. in their place though is a cacophonous wall of sounds that are reminiscent my bloody valentine crossed with califone. yep, if only i had it my way….

the record is free, again probably figured that out, and you can grab via their site. you can also purchase it for 7 bucks which will get a cd w/ a hand made silkscreened cover.
