firstly, i wanted to say y’all are amazing! truly! i really didnt think i would get but a few hundred bucks in this little fund drive im holding – look over there to the right, but you guys have really made a guy feel appreciated/wanted/loved/etc/etc. so from the bottom of my heart, thank you very very much. as you can see have about 1k left to raise, but would like to get a little bit more, not being greedy, but i really didnt take the fees from indiegogo and paypal into consideration. not your problem, mind you, but anyway, you get what im saying. again, i love you all.

anyway, here is a very cool johnny cash show/radio broadcast from amsterdam on 2.26.72.

my so-called rife

Posted by selene on Thursday, September 5th, 2013

Not to get all David Lowery about it but guess how much Bill Janovitz made – via 4460 spins on Spotify – for his part in “Tailights Fade”? Nope, lower. Nope, lil lower. Nope not that lower – even lower(y).

While you hold back the tears and sift through the answers on his Price Is Right Rules Facebook post, hit play and give the man another (.000000000000000001) penny here.

Chris Colbourn is rakin‘ it in on YouTube (25K plays=a Snickers bar), thanks to -sigh- Angela and Jordan.

And… meant to post about this a while ago, but Bill put out a new book (a while ago), “Rocks Off: 50 Tracks That Tell the Story of the Rolling Stones” – or The Book that Launched 1000 Dissenting Message Board Opinions. (Really, Bill? “One Hit to the Body”?!)

We’re assuming (hoping) that publishing deal was more fruitful.

john michael rouchell “holler”

Posted by gregor on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013

Holler-Artwork-1500x1500_v02

new orleans artist john michael rouchell, who you may know better as the main man behind my name is john michael, has a new ep coming out on april 27 entitled the seperation ep. i loved his work with his previous band, and i dont see that love stopping with this solo work. oh, and he’s releasing two more ep’s this year under his full name – all of which i am sure i will be talking about. first listen to this song was a bit taken aback, cause its quite different than his my name is… stuff. a little back information about myself, i grew up on r&b and bands like the eagles, creedence, etc. admittedly, i am still a closet fan of some r&b stuff, i cant help it. anyway, after speaking to john, briefly, he stated he wanted to create something resembling a cross tween prince, bill withers, dj premier and the zombies. cant recommend this enough, dig it!
