bright eyes @ bonnaroo

Posted by doubter on Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

i typically keep my affinity for bright eyes on the down low, but today i will out myself and say that i like bright eyes. maybe one reason that i dig him/them is that i listen to their records, sparingly. their catalogue is not something that can be listened to in full in one sitting, like a lot of my favorite bands. a little bright eyes here and a little bright eyes there works for me, and doesnt make me abhore him/them. for some reason though, i sometimes feel like i am much to old to be listening. am i the only one?

anyway, here is the first part of their bonnaroo 06 set.

1. intro

2. four winds

3. train under water

4. first day of my life

5. ship in a bottle

6. take it easy

7. poison oak

8. love i dont have to love

9. soul singer in the session band

10. another travelin song

the remainder will be posted tomorrow afternoon

Your new page title/caption thingy scares me.

    Get well soon.

  2. gregor says:

ha, thanks rich. did you end up seeing band o’ horses at corndogorama? btw, my new subheader thingy is from a pixies song.

  3. matt says:

greg, i don’t mean to sound like an asshole but i absolutely fuckin’ hate bright eyes. conor is such a whiny little bitch. i think if i ever run into him i’m going to punch him so he does have something to cry about.

ANYWAY, is corndogorama as great as it sounds?

  4. Sloan says:

I’m not ashamed to like Bright Eyes, but both times I’ve gone to a show I definitely felt old.

  5. gregor says:

matt, you are a total dick!? i wish i could say that corndogorama is as cool as it sounds, i am assuming that is, but i didnt get a chance to go.? band of horses opened up the festivities.

sloan, i have never seen him play and that’s probably a good thing. great site, btw.

I was trying to download the first part of Bright Eye’s set to itunes, but it only allows you to listen. Is there a way to download it? I was at Bonnaroo. I really liked some of the unreleased songs Bright Eyes played. Thanks for sharing.

  7. gregor says:

kerri, i forgot to change the permissions. so you should be ok now to download.

there are few musicians that i still listen to on a regular basis that have been with me since my teens. bill janovitz/buffalo tom are one of those artists. so logic would tell you that if im still listening to a band/artist 20 years later, they must be pretty fucking good. bill janovitz is indeed [...]
