Bands on tour who are not coming to Atlanta this summer (in no particular order): Built to Spill, Wilco, Death Cab, Pearl Jam, The Racontuers, Broken Social Scene, Rilo Kiley, !!!, Foo Fighters, Beck, Gnarles Barkley, Bright Eyes, Drive By Truckers, Okkervil River (Athens is not the same). This is just a handful off the top of my head. Did we do something wrong? Do our promoters suck? Somebody tell me what is the deal is here?
yeah, i always find it odd on some of the bands that skip atlanta for one reason or another. i was really looking forward to bon iver, but alas he is not headed our way. the one thing that annoys the hell out of me is that it seems that a lot of bands visit here during the week which really fucks with my sleepy time. i cant offer up any other explanation other than maybe its a combination of shitty crowds/promoters.
I can understand that we can not have all our favorite bands play here on the weekend, but not coming at all?! That pisses me off. Should I thank? Cooley/Conley? Live Nation? Dave Railey? Patrick Hill? etc?
