The Funeral Drums

The Funeral Drums are a 5 piece group of multi-instrumentalists from Long Island. After 7 years of playing together their sound has developed into a distinctive high-energy indie rock that blends Reggae beats, Beatle-esque harmonies, driving hard rock and punk soul.

In 2005 and 2006 –The Funeral Drums (while still in High School) won first place in the Sachem District Battle of the Bands. The prizes included a free recording session, cd release and a feature/live performance on WUSB radio. In 2007 they were finalists in Traxx’s Battle of the Bands, sponsored by Monster energy drink.

In 2008 they released their first full-length album “Songs of the Collective Age”. The cd’s raw originality sparked high sales and internet radio performance. Combining these successes with a solid live presentation, The Funeral Drums have played to high acclaim at such venues as The Crazy Donkey, Nu-bar, Traxx, The Wave and others as well as a spot at the Fall Festival in Huntington.

For their current upcoming release the band went down to Casa del Ape studios in Baltimore with the current line-up: Eddie Lateone on vocals, guitars and piano, Evan Fazziola on vocals and guitars, Scott Casey on bass, vocals and keyboards, Erik Lindgren on drums and bass and Mike Boulanger on keyboards, bass and drums.
