who is close to, if not, tops on my list of most frustrating musicians? yay! you guessed correctly! jason molina, to me, is either freakin brilliant or, well, the complete opposite. you just never know what you are going to get with him, which can either be looked at as exciting or a disappointment waiting in the wings. i will say, he’s more brilliant than the opposite, but why cant he be awesome all the time? he’s got it in him, for christ sakes.

enough of that, he’s got a new record coming out on secretly canadian called josephine on 7.21 – steve albini engineered the affair. more about the record here via secretly canadian, and he sat down with someone from pfork to talk about what he’s been up to. apparently he’s got 6 records in the can, including the highly anticipated, at least by me, record with will johnson. that record is due out in november – thats what i was told via centro-matic’s recent q&a session on twitter.
