mr sharp was in weezer, blah blah blah and put out a fantastic little record under the moniker, the rentals, way back when. he has graced us with some demos that predate that record which was called return of the rentals. very cool shit. just a sidebar piece of info, maya rudolph of snl was one the groups original back up singers.

tiny mix tapes has the scoop on some upcoming Oldham dates and the tracklisting, which looks pretty damn good, on the Oldham tribute record. i find it both funny and disturbing that mark kozelek seems to be on every tribute record as of late. i wish he would stop recording other people’s shit and get back to his own stuff, not that i dont love his contributions but enough is enough
